Why I started
From the dental chair
to the formulation lab.
Losing my mother in 2017 changed the way I looked at everyday products, and what goes into them.
It started as curiosity. It became years of studying ingredient safety, cosmetic chemistry and formulation, in the UK and in India. The more I learned, the more I felt people deserve products that work, and that are made with care.
That is why I started Anahata Body Care & Cosmetics, and created PERSONTAGE®. I know every ingredient on the label, and I stand behind it.
What I know about your skin
Skin, hair and body each need something different.
01 · Skin
Indian skin is different
Indian skin has more melanin. That’s beautiful, but it also means it pigments easily. Every pimple, burn or harsh product can leave a dark mark behind. So Indian skin needs gentle actives, a strong barrier, and sunscreen every single day. Not aggressive treatments.
02 · Hair
Hair is protein
Hair is made of keratin, a protein, and your scalp is naturally acidic. Harsh, alkaline products open up the hair cuticle, and that’s when hair turns dry, frizzy and breaks. Care for hair at the right pH, protect the protein, and it stays strong and shiny.
03 · Body
Body skin needs care too
The skin on your body is thicker and has fewer oil glands than your face, especially on the arms and legs. That’s why it gets dry and rough so quickly. It needs a gentle cleanser and proper moisture, not just whatever soap is in the bathroom.

01 · Skin type
The tissue test
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, pat it dry and put nothing on. Wait one hour. Then press a tissue on your forehead, nose and cheeks.
- Dry: the tissue is clean, and your skin feels tight or flaky.
- Oily: oil from every area, and your skin looks shiny.
- Combination: oil only from the forehead and nose. Cheeks are normal or dry.
- Normal: very little oil, and your skin feels comfortable.
- Sensitive: can be any of the above. Your skin stings, turns red or itches with new products, sun or weather.
02 · Hair & scalp
The scalp and strand test
Notice your scalp a day or two after washing. Then take one wet hair and gently stretch it.
- Oily scalp: greasy again by day one or two.
- Dry scalp: itchy, flaky and tight.
- Combination: oily roots with dry ends.
- Healthy hair: the strand stretches a little and springs back.
- Damaged hair: it snaps at once, or stretches and does not come back. It needs protein care.
03 · Pigmentation
Which type is yours?
Look closely in daylight, where the marks are and how they look.
- Dark spots after pimples or injury: flat brown marks where a pimple, cut or burn was. They fade slowly.
- Sun spots and age spots: small, clear-edged brown spots on the face, hands and arms. They increase with age.
- Melasma: larger brown patches, often matching on both cheeks, the forehead or upper lip. Linked to hormones, sun and heat. Very common in Indian women.
